Illinois needs more competition, top state regulator says

HOUSTON, Feb. 23, 2001—In a downbeat assesment of the Illinois power market, the chairman of the Illinois Commerce Commission warns without more supply alternatives consumers will be subject to prices charged by companies with “very substantial market power.”
