ImServ North America completes testing with Commonwealth Edison Company

RALEIGH, N.C., Aug. 27, 2001 — IMServ is the first Meter Service Provider (MSP) to complete its direct access customer enrollment, registration and EDI testing with Commonwealth Edison (ComEd).

On March 21, 2001, IMServ became the first Meter Service Provider to be granted certification from the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) to provide competitive metering services throughout the state of Illinois. This final step in the process now allows IMServ to offer its advanced metering services to qualified Chicago area direct access customers.

The metering services IMServ is certified to provide to the direct access customers of Illinois include the following: installation, maintenance, reading of electric meters used by retail customers, meter aggregation, and data analysis and management of meter information. The company’s advanced metering services are based on its proprietary systems and include customer initiated on-demand reads and scheduled monthly, daily and hourly meter reads. “IMServ is excited to be able to offer the benefits of its competitive metering services to ComEd’s service territory customers as part of ComEd’s strong support of customer choice,” says Gregory Lizak, vice president of regulatory affairs for IMServ North America. “In Illinois, the ICC, energy suppliers and utilities are all trying to work together to provide these advanced competitive services to customers. This will only help retail customers to better manage their energy costs.”
