Indiana rule to cut power plant NOx emissions 66%

HOUSTON, June 21, 2001 – Nitrogen oxide emissions from fossil-fueled power plants are expected to decline 66% by May 2004, under a new emissions trading system adopted by the Indiana Air Pollution Control Board.

RICHMOND, June 20, 2001 – Rules designed to advance a competitive energy supply market and protect Virginians interested in shopping for electricity and natural gas beginning next year have been approved by the State Corporation Commission (SCC). The rules take effect August 1.
