ISO New England names Gordon van Welie president, CEO

“After a nationwide search, ISO New England’s Board selected Gordon van Welie based on his broad industry experience, his management skills and the superb job he has done in building our organization’s competencies and helping set our strategic direction during the past year,” said Berry. “In particular, he led the successful decision-making process for our Standard Market Design. His information technology experience, and knowledge of our systems, will be indispensable as we implement this new initiative.” Berry noted that the Standard Market Design, a new set of rules and procedures that will guide the region’s deregulated wholesale power markets, is scheduled to be implemented by 2nd Quarter 2003, pending regulatory approval.
