Jantesa successfully implements Aveva’s VANTAGE Project Resource Management System

CAMBRIDGE, England, July 26, 2004 (PRNewswire) — AVEVA, a supplier of engineering IT systems for the process, energy, and marine industries, announced that JANTESA, one of the largest EPC’s in the oil and gas arena in Venezuela, has successfully implemented its VANTAGE Project Resource Management System (VPRM) in just five weeks. JANTESA will use VPRM for all phases of materials management on global, complex process facility projects, including the ongoing engineering, procurement and construction for the $70MM ENELBAR power generation (two 50MW turbo generators) project.

JANTESA’s exposure to VPRM began five years ago during a joint project executed with Kvaerner Process of Houston, Texas, USA. VPRM was utilized on the project for all phases of Materials Management including MTO (interfacing with Intergraph Corporation’s PDS), requisitioning and procurement, and site materials management. JANTESA utilized VPRM from both its Caracas office and from the Sincor project construction site, while Kvaerner utilized the product from Houston. Because of VPRM’s capability to successfully manage materials on a project executed on two continents between three offices, in an integrated fashion with the 3-D model, JANTESA gained a high level of confidence in VPRM as a World-Class system for use on large and complex process facility projects.

“Although JANTESA had previous experience with VPRM, we were gladly surprised of the speed and ease of installation,” said Eduardo Torrealba, Procurement Manager for JANTESA. “Following two weeks of installation and configuration and three weeks of training, our engineering team is now fully utilizing VPRM as an enterprise system for the global execution of our EPC projects.”
