Southborough, MA, Oct. 27, 2005 — ViryaNet, a provider of software applications for workforce management and field service delivery, announced that Jackson Energy Authority (JEA) has begun deploying ViryaNet Service Hub for Utilities. JEA provides electric, natural gas, propane, water, wastewater, cable TV, telephone, and Internet services to over 38,000 residences and businesses in Jackson and parts of Madison County and surrounding counties in Tennessee.
JEA rolled out ViryaNet Service Hub for Utilities to its field engineers who deliver a range of services that include meter “turn-on” and “turn-off” services, credit and collections, and asset management. ViryaNet Service Hub for Utilities will schedule these resources based on work order type, location, skill sets, work order tasks, and other JEA business requirements.
JEA is hoping the new system will improve their efficiency in customer operations as well as reduce cost.
