Jeffords introduces bill to set national interconnection standard

HOUSTON, June 1, 2001 — Sen. James M. Jeffords of Vermont, who is leaving the Republican Party to become an independent, and a group of Democratic senators have introduced legislation that calls for development of a national standard to interconnect to the electricity grid.

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 4, 2001 — The U.S. Supreme Court has decided not to review the Environmental Protection Agency’s final rule on the disposal of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).
