M2M announces security upgrade to iSCADA service product

Englewood, CO, Jan. 30, 2006 — M2M Data Corp., an internet-based supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) provider, announced a security upgrade to its industry-leading iSCADA service product. Data and access security procedures and processes have been upgraded to meet electric utility industry standards.

iSCADA is billed as a full-featured application for remote monitoring and control of energy assets. iSCADA includes real-time data collection, alarming, trending, and control.

The security upgrade includes more than 20 additions and improvements and has been audited and approved by a major electric utility, said a recent press release.

iSCADA is a rapidly deployed, managed machine-to-machine communications service product used for monitoring and controlling remote, mobile, and fixed assets. iSCADA uses internet, wireless, satellite, smart field devices, and industrial M2M technologies to efficiently communicate operating data between people, devices, and systems. The service is provided on a turnkey basis including communication services with minimal or no capital expense, and is backed by a service level guarantee.
