Madden named Xcel Energy controller

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., Jan. 26, 2004 — Xcel Energy announced that Teresa S. Madden has been named vice president and controller.

Madden started her career with a predecessor company of Xcel Energy in 1979. She held a variety of positions with Public Service Company of Colorado, served as corporate controller of New Century Energies, and most recently was vice president of finance for Xcel Energy Customer and Field Operations.

“I’m pleased to have a person with Teresa Madden’s experience and professional skills on our corporate finance team,” said Benjamin G.S. Fowke III, Xcel Energy vice president and chief financial officer.

Madden replaces David Ripka, who is retiring in March. “We greatly appreciate the valuable contributions Dave has made to the successes of Northern States Power Company and Xcel Energy over the last 27 years,” Fowke said.

Madden earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting at Colorado State University and an MBA at Regis University. She is a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
