Metso Automation forms new partnerships for sale of its RTUs

Houston, Texas, Oct. 3, 2002 — Metso Automation, a supplier of SCADA systems and automation products to the electric utility industry, has added three new regional members to its RTU Sales and Service team in North America.

The members include

* Truitt Electrical Sales Agency (TESA, Inc.) in Ohio and West Virginia
* GPS, Inc. in Texas and Louisiana
* W.R. Daniel & Associates, Inc. in North and South Carolina

Truitt Electrical Sales Agency (TESA, Inc.) was founded in 1973 in Indianapolis, Indiana. At that time, the company’s focus was on electrical generation and distribution companies in Indiana. However in 1981, TESA expanded into Ohio, eventually moving its head office to Columbus, and eight years later further expanded into Kentucky. TESA will be marking its 30th anniversary in January 2003.

GPS, Inc. has been providing automation solutions for municipalities and utilities in Texas and Louisiana since 1979. In March of 2001, Bob Gilbert joined GPS, bringing extensive knowledge of the Metso Automation SCADA and RTU product lines from his experience as an employee at Metso in both R&D and Sales.

Bob will represent Metso Automation and Alligator Communications, both leading providers of SCADA equipment and services to the energy and utility marketplace.

W.R. Daniel & Associates, Inc. was founded by Carolyn and Bill Daniel in 1969 to service the distribution, substation, transmission and generation markets of the electric utility industry in North and South Carolina. They are members of various Electrical Associations including the IEEE, the NEMRA and the EERA, of which Bill served as President for the 1999/2000 year.

A recent addition to the line is the config@WEB web browser interface designed for today’s Substation Automation needs and providing an unparalleled interface for handling the complicated task of integrating a host of IEDs into customers’ systems. “Since we unveiled our new config@WEB browser interface earlier this year, we are having a hard time keeping up with the requests for information. Adding Reps to our network is a must” said Duane Gilbert, Metso Automation Sales Manager.
