Mirant announces it is withdrawing from IEP in California

�The IEP’s membership, which ranges from traditional power generators to so-called ‘qualifying facilities,’ is simply too diverse. The organization’s positions do not always match Mirant’s positions as a large merchant generator,� said Randy Harrison, chief executive officer of Mirant’s western U.S. operations.
