Money for nothing: The myth of energy marketing

March 28, 2001–FERC (the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) has spoken on the issue of power sellers in California: pay or play. Either give back the approximately $69 million that FERC estimates they “overcharged,” or tap dance their way through a routine to prove their prices were–that overused phrase–just and reasonable.
