Nevada regulators reject power line funding plan

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 15, 2000 ( ) — State regulators Thursday rejected a funding proposal from a nonprofit group that was planned to regulate the state’s power transmission lines after the start of electric power deregulation.

PRINCETON, N.J., Sept. 18, 2000 — Electricity deregulation may be losing its fuel after struggling through a summer of discontent. A recent nationwide study revealed that consumers are becoming increasingly wary of electricity deregulation in the western United States and especially in California, a state that has been plagued by the negative effects of deregulation during the past six months.
