New president sweeps Calif. crisis under the rug

What do you mean he௿½s not going to do anything about California? I could hear myself ask news magazines when they reported Bush௿½s stance on the crisis. It seems our new president has decided to let the befuddled state sort out its own problems; he has a different agenda.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Jan. 22, 2001 – The electric power crisis currently facing the State of California and the possible bankruptcy of the state’s two largest investor-owned utilities, Pacific Gas & Electric and Southern California Edison, could have negative financial implications for local governments in the state.
