Bitronics, a NovaTech Company that supplies high-performance measurement instruments to the electric utility industry, has released the M650 family of three-phase multifunction meters. The M650 is the first of the new 50 series of SCADA meters and indicators for local indication and SCADA communications. The M650 has an easy-to-read display, simple setup and superior communications flexibility. Among the key features is the standard Ethernet service port that allows connection to the meter via a standard web browser. Easy installation and start up is provided with universal wiring, configurable RS-232/RS-485 port, selectable DNP3 or Modbus protocol, pre-set point lists and universal power supply. Serial, Ethernet and transducer output options provide communications flexibility.
Motorola Inc. announced two new enterprise-grade iDEN handsets—the r765 and the intrinsically safe r765IS—custom-designed for the utility, petrochemical and industrial markets. These easy-to-use, rugged communications solutions for private iDEN networks provide mobile workers in noisy and hazardous environments with terrific call clarity and access to data applications. Motorola’s r765 and r765IS handsets are engineered to ensure loud and clear communications—even in high volume environments. Users also get isolated site operation, emergency talk group calls, status messaging and talk group scan. Moreover, organizations can continue to rely on MOTOtalk to enhance device capabilities with downloadable Java applications and provide workers with hands-free capabilities with Bluetooth wireless technology.
Class 2 Transformers
Wabash Transformer Corp. is pleased to announce the Class 2-approved transformers for use in energy efficient, household and commercial appliances, and heating ventilating air conditioning and refrigeration. Transformers are designed as drop in replacement to major brands to reduce customer supplier transition costs and deliver per annum savings. Transformers are available with multiple primary and secondary windings, inherently or non-inherently limited (for externally fused applications) for printed circuit board (PCB) mount, solder/quick connect terminals and lead wires.

A-T Controls’ expanded line of Triac THD heavy-duty scotch yoke actuators is engineered for the most demanding liquid and air handling applications, powering quarter-turn dampers and valves with up to 1,600,000 in. lbs. (180,800 nm) torque. Capable of operating ball, butterfly and plug valves, dampers or louvers, THD actuators use a symmetrical-design yoke that delivers maximum torque at both ends of the 90-degree cycle. The THD Series meets comprehensive application needs with six basic body groups, each available in spring-return or double-acting versions and operating air pressures from 40 to 100 PSIG, plus a complete line of accessories. Modular design allows mixing power groups and spring cartridges with different center body sizes to suit different air pressures and requirements for fail-clockwise or fail-counterclockwise operation.
