The State Grid Corp. of China (SGCC), the largest electric power transmission and distribution company in China, has selected Moxa’s IEC 61850-3 Ethernet switches for use in substation automation and smart grid applications. Hundreds of Moxa’s PowerTrans series of IEC 61850-3 compliant industrial Ethernet switches will be installed in 500/220 kV high voltage substations. Moxa’s PowerTrans series of products are specifically designed to operate reliably in harsh electric utility substation environments. The entire product line has passed IEC 61850-3 and IEEE1613 certification testing conducted by KEMA, and features strong EMI immunity, -40 C to 85 C operating temperature range and redundancy functions for complex, high voltage substations.
Phase Rotation Meter
The Phase Rotation Meter (PRM) from HD Electric is used to identify the leading phase of any two phases of a three-phase conductor system. It is a dual range 0-5 kV and 0-15 kV device that performs in applications up to 45 kV when optional resistor sticks are added. It consists of two sticks with a connecting cord and ground lead. Phase rotation is determined by taking readings on the two phases; first in one direction then the other. The meter will indicate which phase is leading and which is lagging. The PRM can be used in overhead applications or in underground applications by adding the appropriate underground probes for your application.
Eraser’s New Model MMC71 multimaterial cutter is an all electric, fully programmable, bench top cutter capable of processing a wide variety of material types and compositions including heat shrink tubing; tapes; foils; ribbon cable to 3.3 inches wide, light tubing to 3/16 inch and wire to 16 AWG (1.3mm) stranded conductor copper; material dependent. The unit is microprocessor controlled and can be easily programmed to cut any length (in inches or millimeters) with repeatability of +/- 0.005″ (0.13mm) to 5 percent of total length depending on material and dereeling system. Programmable for up to 99 batches and 10 fixed feed rates, the unit is capable of cutting over 10,000 pieces per hour.
