Floor Ground Clamp

BURNDY, a manufacturer and provider of connector solutions to the industrial, energy, construction, telecommunication, petrochemical, data center, and transportation industries, introduces the SUPER-CLAMP, its newest raised floor pedestal ground connector. The GXP1828RF is a multi-functional, easy to install, range taking ground connector. This grounding clamp accepts an extensive range of pedestal types as well as conductors. The accepted pedestal range is 3/4″ through 2″, for use with either round and square styles (7/8″ to 2″ round; 3/4″ to 1-1/2″ square). The wire range is #6 solid to 4/0 stranded. The wires can be arranged in parallel or in a cross grid configuration and can accept 1 or 2 wires.

Station, Substation Transformers

Pacific Crest Transformers (PCT), a leader in the design and construction of liquid-filled distribution transformers, offers energy-efficient, customized padmount, station and substation transformers that save energy and lower costs. PCT’s efficient transformers have grown increasingly valuable as fuel costs continue to rise. The company customizes its transformers for a wide range of applications, specifically building them for hazardous, flammable or explosive environments. Available in ratings from 75 to 15000 kVA, PCT padmount, station and substation transformers are compact, as well as easy to install and maintain. They are designed for indoor and outdoor locations and are both tamper and corrosion proof.

Compatibility Verified

Landis+Gyr announced it has successfully verified compatibility of its Gridstream advanced metering solution with the RuggedMAX WiMAX wide area network from RuggedCom. This capability allows Gridstream customers to use the RuggedMAX solution to communicate with Gridstream data collectors. In the Gridstream solution, wide area networks are used to transport information between data collectors and head-end servers located at the utility or Landis+Gyr’s data center. RuggedMAX is a high power WiMAX base station that is ideally designed for data backhaul from advanced metering, distribution automation and SCADA systems. Operating in both the 3.65 GHz (FCC and IC) and 1.8 GHz (IC) spectra, RuggedMAX meets requirements in the United States and Canada for electric power applications. The Gridstream integration with WiMax represents the next step of delivering a multi-technology network to utilities.
