New retail energy transaction hub quick to capture 24% of Ontario Market

Among the newly- established hub’s first customers are local distribution companies, Hydro Mississauga, Peterborough Distribution Inc., Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro Inc., Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited and retailers Toronto Hydro Energy Services Inc. and Ontario Power Generation Inc.

Dec. 11, 2000–Political controversy flared anew over the California Independent System Operator’s handling of the state’s electricity crisis, with Gov. Gray Davis threatening to dismantle the existing ISO after the grid operator won federal regulatory permission to lift a cap on wholesale electricity prices Friday.
