WELLESLEY, Mass., May 15, 2002 — Starting Tuesday, Texas consumers were able to take advantage of electric choice in the state using technology provided by Nexus Energyguide.
At www.powertochoose.org, the Texas Public Utility Commission’s official electric choice web site, Texans can compare electric provider offers and even switch suppliers using Nexus’ proprietary ENERGYfinderà¢â€ž- solution.
No longer will consumers have to wait for the radio or TV advertisements, or a pile of direct mail offers, since all the information they need to make an informed choice decision is now available at the click of the mouse.
At www.powertochoose.org Texans can learn about the overall Texas Electric Choice Program, and how they can lower their electric bills and/or help the environment by choosing a new supplier.
When a consumer enters their zip code, Nexus’ ENERGYfinderà¢â€ž- immediately displays a comprehensive listing of all energy companies that offer choice in their area–along with their competitive price offers. Companies offering environmentally friendly power are also noted, including descriptions of how their power is generated.
ENERGYfinder’sà¢â€ž- proprietary algorithm shows not only the price offer per kilowatt, but also how much the typical household will pay per year if they switch. Consumers can click on any offer to obtain more detailed information –including an enrollment form. The enrollment form can be filled out on-line and submitted with a simple “click”.
“The Texas Electric Choice campaign is on a roll and we are pleased to be part of it”, said David Manly, Chief Marketing Officer of Nexus Energyguide. “Our ENERGYfinder solution will enable Texas consumers to make the most informed choice possible, in a convenient setting, with no sales hype pressure.”
Nexus Energyguide has contracted with Burson-Marsteller/Dallas — who developed the Power to Choose web site for the Texas PUC — to provide the ENERGYfinderà¢â€ž- solution to Texans.
