Niagara Mohawk proposes distribution rate cut to offset higher commodity prices

National Grid offered to buy Niagara Mohawk in a cash and stock deal valued at $3 billion in September. It will also assume Niagara�s $5.9 billion debt.

HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 17, 2001 (PRNewswire) — On behalf of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, Lt. Gov. Mark S. Schweiker, Chairman of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Council, today announced that an energy-emergency exercise and briefing will be held for state agencies and the Governor’s Energy Task Force on Thursday, Jan. 25, at the headquarters of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.
