Nina Skorupska has been appointed member of the supervisory board of DNV KEMA Energy & Sustainability. Skorupska is chief technology officer and a member of the executive board of Essent.
Skorupska is a chemist with a doctorate in coal combustibility and more than 25 years in the energy industry. She started as a scientist at the University of Newcastle and the International Energy Agency-Coal Research. She joined the British utility National Power, where she held several technical and managerial positions. After part of National Power became RWE Npower, a division of the German utility RWE, Skorupska led a U.K. energy-trading team and became RWE Npower’s director of technology services. She also was a member of the U.K. government Advisory Committee for Carbon Abatement Technologies (ACCAT). In 2008, Skorupska moved to Germany and became RWE Group’s director of performance improvement. Since May 2010, Skorupska has been a member of the executive board and chief technology officer of Essent N.V., RWE Group’s Netherlands/Belgium energy business.
