OG&E signs agreement in principle to settle rate case

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oct. 2, 2002 — OGE Energy Corp. announced Tuesday its OG&E Electric Services subsidiary has entered into an agreement in principle with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission staff, the state Attorney General and other parties to settle the utility’s rate case pending before the commission.

Hearings before an administrative law judge in the case, scheduled to begin today, have been continued in order that details of the settlement may be finalized. The agreement, before it can be implemented, will require the approval of the three-member Corporation Commission.

OG&E is a regulated electric utility with more than 700,000 customers in a service area spanning 30,000 square miles in Oklahoma and western Arkansas. OGE Energy also is the parent company of Enogex Inc., a natural gas pipeline and energy marketing company.
