Ohio power siting board staff recommends approval

Fremont Energy Center is a subsidiary of Calpine Corporation. Calpine Corporation, headquartered in San Jose, California, is an independent power company that is engaged in the development, acquisition, ownership and operation of power generation facilities and the sale of electricity in the United States and Canada. Fremont Energy Center’s preferred site for the facility is located on approximately 80 acres of land in Sandusky Township, in Sandusky County, Ohio. The Staff’s recommendation of approval came with a request that 21 specific conditions become part of any certificate issued by the Board.
