Osmose introduces engineering & work management services

Buffalo, NY, April 5, 2007 — Osmose Utilities Services Inc. now offers engineering and work management services to utilities that face increased workloads due to aging infrastructure and aging workforce trends.

Osmose has combined two competencies — field inspections and surveys of T&D assets and networks — with office personnel knowledgeable in GIS software, work order design and work management processes.

“We are often involved in projects that ramp up quickly and produce high volumes of work for engineering staffs for short time periods. Osmose can expand and contract its field forces to suit the project but utilities don’t always have the same flexibility within their offices. The next natural step was to pursue more of these technical and project administration responsibilities” offered Larry Larson, president of Osmose Utilities Services.

Distribution service offerings include design for facility upgrades, system hardening, new services and fiber optic projects; turn-key management of joint use and third party attachment requests; right of way and permitting issues resolution; and records updating for GIS and other target systems. Osmose LoadCalc and O-Calc software support pole loading analysis and make ready design.
