Panel of researchers read tea leaves for AMR

TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 28, 2000 — Automatic meter reading equipment has seen more market penetration, sales and overall growth in the last year, a panel of industry experts agreed. And the next few years should bring more of the same.

ATLANTA, Sept. 28, 2000—GE Power Systems has received multi-year service contracts from the Southern Company totaling $575 million, covering combined-cycle power plants being built by affiliates of the Southern Company in the southeastern U.S.
