Matthew C. Cordaro has resigned as president and CEO of the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator Inc. (MISO). James P. Torgerson, vice president and chief financial officer, will succeed as president and CEO. Torgerson has served as MISO’s vice president and chief financial officer since October 1999. Before coming to MISO, he was vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of DPL Inc. and its subsidiary Dayton Power and Light Co.

William Mahoney has been named president and CEO of Excelergy Corp. Mahoney will also join Excelergy’s board of directors.

PECO Energy and Unicom Corp. announced that-effective upon the completion of their merger-Michael J. Egan, senior vice president and chief financial officer of PECO Energy, will be appointed executive vice president of Exelon Corp. and president and CEO of Exelon Enterprises.

PECO Energy and Unicom also announced that Paul A. Elbert, executive vice president and president and CEO of Unicom, who had been designated as the president and CEO of Exelon Enterprises, has resigned to pursue other interests.

Pamela B. Strobel, executive vice president of Unicom Corp., will become executive vice president of Exelon Corp. and president of Exelon Energy Delivery, the holding company for Exelon Corp.’s energy delivery businesses.

PacifiCorp announced that Judi Johansen, former administrator and CEO of the Bonneville Power Administration, has been appointed as executive vice president of regulation and external affairs.

John A. Mazzone has been promoted to vice president of maintenance services for AEP Pro Serv SM Inc., a subsidiary of American Electric Power. Mazzone was most recently general manager at AEP’s Picway Plant in Lockbourne. He joined AEP in 1984 as a performance engineer.

Dynegy has named Jeff McParland senior vice president of finance. McParland joins Dynegy from PG&E Gas Transmission, where he served as senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer. The company has also named Andrea Lang vice president of human resources. Patricia Eckert and Jerry Johnson have joined Dynegy’s board of directors. Eckert formerly served as president of California Public Utilities Commission; Johnson is executive vice president of Safeguard Scientifics.

Suppliers

Peabody Group announced that Mark N. Schroeder has been named vice president of finance and group controller. Schroeder joined Peabody from Falcon Products Inc. in St. Louis, where he also served as controller.

Apogee Networks, a provider of content and IP rating as well as billing and settlement solutions, named Kristen Robinson vice president of client services. Robinson was vice president of client services for the northern American enterprise division at Global Crossing.

USPower Solutions, a provider of client-driven solutions for the deregulated marketplace, appointed Diana M. Bolick as the company’s new vice president of marketing. Prior to joining USPowerSolutions, Bolick was the director of market development for Excelergy Corp.

Lawrence M. Sanders has been appointed vice president of sales and marketing for H Power Corp., a fuel cell development company. Sanders comes to H Power from ToCAD America, a manufacturer of custom battery packs.

American Superconductor Corp. has elected Clayton M. Christensen as the ninth member of its board of directors. Christensen has been a professor at Harvard Business School since 1992. They also named Eric Snitgen general manager of the company’s high temperature superconductor technologies business unit. Snitgen worked for Hendrix Wire and Cable Inc., where he was vice president and general manager for overhead power transmission and distribution products.

Energy marketers

Williams announced that Patricia Higgins has resigned from its board of directors. Higgins cited a job change as the reason for her decision. She joined the Williams board in connection with its acquisition of Transco Energy Co. in 1995.

TradeWell Systems, a Houston-based company specializing in Internet-based systems integration and consulting services, announced that Patrick Reames, previously vice president with Altra Technologies, has joined their management team as vice president of client services.

Consultants and analysts

W. Don Dotson has joined Scientific Applications International Corp. as project manager of IT development serving the Entergy Transition to Completion project in New Orleans. Prior to joining Scientific Applications, Dotson served as manager of nuclear safety for the U.S. Enrichment Corp. n

The Electric Power Supply Association (EPSA) announced that B. Kent Burton, senior vice president of policy and international government relations for Ogden Energy Group, has been re-elected to serve as the association’s chair for 2001. EPSA, the national trade group representing competitive power suppliers also announced the rest of its leadership for the coming year: Kenneth E. Randolph, senior vice president and general counsel for Dynegy will continue to serve as first vice chair. Craig Mataczynski, president and CEO of NRG North America will serve as second vice chair. James Donnell, president and CEO of Duke Energy North America has been elected secretary; Peter Cartwright, president and CEO of Calpine, becomes treasurer.

David LaPlante has become vice president of markets development for ISO New England; Kevin A. Kirby is vice president of market operations. ISO New England also appointed Edward M. McKenna to the position of vice president and chief financial officer.

Joseph W. Sutton, vice chairman of Enron, has left the company. Sutton joined Enron in 1992 and held a variety of positions in Enron’s international businesses. He was promoted to vice chairman in 1999.

Calpine Corp. has named Richard W. Haviland as senior vice president. Haviland held various engineering, business development, project management and senior management positions with Bechtel in the fossil power business.

Timothy Hebert has been promoted to the position of vice president, energy operations at Energy New England. Hebert most recently served as operations manager.

Edison Mission Energy (EME), an Edison International company, named John Mathis as vice president and associate general counsel, regulatory affairs. Prior to joining EME, Mathis was a senior partner in the energy group of Hogan and Hartson LLP, a law practice that specializes in electric industry regulatory and restructuring issues.

The board of Ameren Corp. has elected Ronald D. Affolter vice president-nuclear of AmerenUE. Affolter joined AmerenUE in 1981 as a systems engineer and has been manager of the Callaway plant since 1995.

The North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) announced the appointment of Dr. Fred I. Denny as manager of support services. Denny most recently held the position of associate professor in the department of engineering at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La.

Energy marketers

Peoples Energy has named Thomas A. Nardi president and CEO of Peoples Energy Services, the company’s retail energy marketing subsidiary. Nardi moved to Peoples Energy from the utility and energy strategy practice at Andersen Consulting.

Sempra Energy Solutions, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy, has appointed Leah Bissonette as vice president of U.S. regional sales. Most recently, Bissonette was a senior account director with Williams’ Energy Marketing and Trading Co.

Suppliers

Basler Electric, a manufacturer and supplier of transformers, generator/genset controls, networked automation systems and protective relays, announced that John Walsh has joined the company as president and chief operating officer. Prior to coming to Basler, Walsh was president of Principal Manufacturing Company in Broadview, Ill.

ConneXt, a Seattle-based supplier of billing and customer care solutions software for the utility industry, announced that Irene M. Stillings has been appointed vice president of business development. Prior to her appointment at ConneXt, Stillings was the director of customer care at Navigant Consulting.

Analysts and consultants

Natsource has hired Richard Rosenzweig, a former chief of staff at the Department of Energy, to run its newly established office in Washington, D.C. Rosenzweig has been named a managing director of Natsource. Rosenzweig joins Natsource from the Washington law firm of Van Ness Feldman.

RKS Research & Consulting, a nationwide market research and public opinion polling firm, has hired Kathi Disch, whose career has included marketing roles at Columbia Energy Retail Corporation, Florida Power and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. She joins RKS as director of Internet projects.

Onsite Energy Corp. announced that Frank Mazanec has been elected to its board of directors. Mazanec has been with Onsite since 1991. Prior to joining Onsite, Mazanec served as a regional director for Wheelabrator Techologies.

Catalytica Inc. announced that Dennis Riebe has joined Catalytica Energy Systems as its chief financial officer. Riebe previously spent a decade at AlliedSignal Engines where he served in a variety of capacities including chief financial officer of a corporate division.

Developers

Lawrence M. Sanders has been appointed vice president of sales and marketing for H Power Corp., a fuel cell development company. Sanders comes to H Power from ToCAD America, a manufacturer of custom battery packs.

NiSource Inc. subsidiary Primary Energy has named Richard L. Hoover vice president of marketing and sales. Hoover was vice president of international and domestic corporate sales during his last three years at Nalco Chemical Co.

American Superconductor Corp. has elected Clayton M. Christensen as the ninth member of its board of directors. Christensen has been a professor at Harvard Business School since 1992.
