Plug Power receives U.S. GSA listing

LATHAM, N.Y., March 2, 2005 (PRNewswire-FirstCall) — Plug Power Inc. a provider of clean, reliable on-site energy, announced that the Company’s GenCore 5-kW backup fuel cell system has been approved by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) for listing on the Federal Supply Service Schedule.

The GenCore has been listed under the classification of Power Distribution Equipment, Generators and Batteries – group number 61 – GSA contract: GS-07F- 5680R. This listing will allow federal agencies to purchase the GenCore backup fuel cell systems directly from the Federal Supply Service Schedule under a pre-negotiated contract.

“The Federal Supply Service listing represents another critical ‘approved for purchase’ milestone that will permit us to continue satisfying the backup power needs of federal customers,” stated Mark Sperry, Plug Power’s Chief Marketing Officer. “This GSA approval will help streamline the purchasing process within the federal government which should aid in accelerating the deployment of our GenCore products.”

This GSA approval complements Plug Power’s recent agreement with the N.Y. State Office of General Services making GenCore available for purchase by all state agencies, municipalities and not-for-profits chartered by New York State.
