Power-Gen: Further consolidation forecast for nuclear industry

ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 17, 2000—More U.S. nuclear plants are ending up in fewer hands with the odds being some five to six companies will own the U.S. fleet of 100 plants, says the head of a firm that consults on nuclear unit sales.

Nov. 16, 2000—In its quest to insure natural gas supply, Calpine Corp. will acquire all of the shares outstanding of Canadian-based TriGas Exploration Inc. for about $100.4 million including debt.
