Power marketers billed for California utilities’ unpaid bills

HOUSTON, Feb. 9, 2000—Electricity marketers should not be liable for Southern California Edison Co. and Pacific Gas & Electric Co.’s billion-dollar debt to the California Power Exchange and the California Independent System Operator, nine energy companies claim in a filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

ANNAPOLIS, Md., Feb. 5, 2001 (PRNewswire) — Coal inventories at the end of January had fallen by about 16 million tons below the lowest level during the past six years. They are likely to remain at very low levels through May, unless there is an unexpected upsurge in production.
