Reliant plans $550 million coal power plant in Pennsylvania

HOUSTON, Mar. 19, 2001–A unit of Reliant Energy Inc. said Monday it plans to build a $550 million 520 MW coal-fired electric generating plant in western Pennsylvania.

Palo Alto, Calif., March 11, 2001 – East Kentucky Power has been awarded the 2000 Technology Achievement Award by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). Presented today at the annual meeting of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) in St Louis, the award honors electric cooperatives that have demonstrated leadership in the development, technology transfer, application and use of EPRI products and services.
