SDG&E, Cal-PX Propose Market Solution to Reduce Electricity Price Volatility

The new program-which was developed as a result of SDG&E’s emergency energy summit that brought together more than 100 energy market participants-if approved by the CPUC will enable SDG&E to procure power for customers through the Cal-PX with reduced price volatility over the next five to nine months. The Cal-PX designed the program with SDG&E to take advantage of several separate power purchase proposals that were developed by individual energy providers in response to the summit.

INDIANAPOLIS—The Board of Directors of the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator Inc. recently approved three new applications for membership to the ISO.
