Shortest AEP route recommended for new high-voltage line in Virginia

RICHMOND, Oct. 8, 2000 (Richmond Times-Dispatch)–A State Corporation Commission hearing examiner says American Electric Power Co. needs a new high-voltage line in Southwest Virginia and it should be built along the shortest proposed route.

Oct. 10, 2000–The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission denied last week Morgan Stanley Capital Group Inc.’s application to force the New York Independent System Operator (ISO) to permit financial bids in the wholesale power market by entities with no generating capacity or customers to serve in that state.
