Six companies join DOE’s National Alliance of Clean Energy Business Incubators

Alliance member incubators will focus on accelerating the growth and development of U.S. technology-based start-up companies in the clean energy sector. The Alliance teams NREL with the seven business incubators and a network of venture capitalists and energy industry leaders to provide business and financial services to clean energy entrepreneurs.

DEARBORN, Mich., Feb. 23, 2001 – CMS Energy Corporation (NYSE:CMS) today announced it has sold ten million primary shares of common stock on Friday, February 23, 2001. The shares were sold in a block trade to Banc of America Securities. CMS Energy netted proceeds of approximately $295.6 million from the sale, which will be used to repay debt. With the new issue, CMS Energy will have approximately 131.3 million common shares outstanding.
