Southern Company reduces peak load with Internet-based demand reduction program

The Demand Exchange provides the trading platform, communications interface and data management tool for DEC, a voluntary service that allows Georgia Power’s commercial and industrial customers the opportunity to earn financial rewards by reducing their electric usage during peak periods. Virtually all communication and transactions are conducted over the web.
