Southern suggests options for management of system

Oct. 14, 2000, (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)—Southern Co. will file plans with federal regulators Monday to shift operations of its $2 billion high-voltage electric transmission system to independent managers.

JACKSON, Mich., Oct. 13, 2000 (PRNewswire via COMTEX) — Consumers Energy filed a request today with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to transfer its electric transmission system assets to a new wholly owned subsidiary, Michigan Electric Transmission Company (Michigan Transco).
