Study: Californians lack a golden view of electricity deregulation

According to a recent nationwide study conducted by CARAVAN, an ORC International telephone omnibus survey, one third (33 percent) of California adults had an unfavorable opinion of electricity deregulation compared to one quarter (27 percent) in the Western region and one fifth (20 percent) nationwide. In addition, 29 percent of California adults said they have become more unfavorable towards deregulation in the past six months. Nationwide, only 13 percent of adults’ views of deregulation have fallen, while 15 percent say they have become more favorable towards electricity deregulation during this time.
