Texas utility plans to use superconductors to stabilize voltage

BEAUMONT, Texas, Sept. 28, 2000 (The Beaumont Enterprise)—Entergy Corp. plans to acquire two “superconducting magnetic energy storage” units for use as power supplements to stabilize voltage levels in high-demand areas such as The Woodlands and in south Montgomery County.
