Utilities shift direction with product and service initiatives

Chartwell’s research finds that products close to the core energy offering, such as energy information and power quality services, will be offered in some form at the overwhelming majority of utilities in coming years. Currently, more than three-fourths provide residential customers usage data and another 10 percent plan to do so within a year. Ninety percent offer commercial and industrial (C&I) customers energy information/usage data. Savvy energy companies don’t stop at simply providing the information; they help customers manage, manipulate, evaluate, and act on it.
