Utility consortium to use eProcurement solution to create private procurement exchange for its members

NORWOOD, Mass., Feb. 19, 2002 — elcom inc, a provider of remotely-hosted eProcurement and eMarketplace solutions subsidiary of Elcom International Inc., today announced that Colectric Partners Inc., a membership-driven non-profit corporation serving America’s publicly-owned utilities, has selected PECOS Internet Procurement Manager (PECOS.ipm) to create a private eProcurement marketplace environment for use by Colectric Partners’ member organizations.

Colectric Partners is comprised of the JEA, Santee Cooper, Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia and the Nebraska Public Power District.

Founded in 2001, Colectric Partners, Inc. pools its members’ collective physical, financial and intellectual resources in order to maximize cost savings. The company is using collaboration to create efficiencies across the utility business model including the areas of development, project management, operations and maintenance of electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas and infrastructure facilities.

PECOS Internet Procurement Manager, elcom, inc.’s remotely-hosted eProcurement system, will be used to create buying efficiencies among Colectric Partners’ public power member organizations for facilities projects and maintenance, repair and operating materials purchases.
