Westcoast Energy announces highest profit on record

Following record third quarter earnings, earnings per common share were $1.09 and $0.38 for the three months ended December 31, 2000 and 1999 respectively, reflecting another outstanding performance in the fourth quarter of 2000. A solid performance from the British Columbia Pipeline and Field Services divisions and significantly improved results from Engage Energy and Union Energy contributed to the strong 2000 fourth quarter results.
