Wisconsin Energy halves dividend, plans $6 billion in investments

MILWAUKEE, Wis., Sept. 11, 2000 — With state electricity demand growing 3% per year,Wisconsin Energy Corp., Milwaukee, said Sunday it will cut its dividend 50% to help finance a controversial $6 billion, 10-year plan to construct more electric generation, including new coal-fired plants; new transmission and distribution facilities; and upgrades to existing facilities.

WHITE PLAINS, NY, Sept. 6, 2000 — Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc. has contracted with Enron Energy Services, a unit of Enron Corp., Houston, to manage the energy for its hotels in a 10-year deal worth more than $1 billion, the companies reported Wednesday.
