Xenergy Inc. expands consulting with purchase of EFI

BURLINGTON, Mass., Jan. 9, 2002 — Energy consulting firm XENERGY is acquiring EFI, a Boston-based consulting firm specializing in the environmental and energy sectors.

The acquisition provides XENERGY with broader consulting expertise and further diversifies its client base. Under the agreement, EFI will operate as an independent business unit at XENERGY’s Burlington headquarters. The acquisition is effective immediately.

XENERGY’s services help energy companies and their customers succeed in a changing energy market. Xenergy provides energy consulting, engineering and energy services, energy information technology, and program implementation services.

EFI, founded in 1990, provides business and strategy consulting, as well as government and community relations services, to utilities, power plant developers, large energy end-users, integrated waste management companies, nonprofit organizations, and federal, state, and local governments.
