Unloading coal by freight train

Crews with Public Service Co. of Colorado unloading pulverized coal at a Valmont Station near Boulder, Colorado in July 1926. According to the Xcel Energy website, Valmont Station was built in 1921. Today the 229 MW power plant uses low-sulfur coal from western Colorado mines and natural gas to generate electricity.
