Hurricane Wilma (2005) $29.2 billion

Wilma was the most intense tropical cyclone ever recorded in the Atlantic basin. The 22nd storm in the busy 2005 hurricane season, Wilma made landfall in Mexico and hit the tourist areas of Cozumel and Cancun before turning toward Florida. About 6 million people lost power in Florida, according to Florida Power and Light.
