Serving hydropower-rich Washington State, PSE gets a third of its generation capacity from water-powered generation assets. The utility maintains a net metering program that allows customers equipped with solar energy capacity to return extra solar power to the grid, draw power when the customer needs more than is generated, with the metering program calculating the difference.
