FERC cites energy firms for millions in market manipulations

In October 2013, BP became the latest in a string of major international energy companies to be charged with energy market manipulation by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). J.P. Morgan Ventures Energy Corp. agreed to pay out $410 million in fees and restitution of unjust profits following FERC’s allegations of energy market manipulation.
