Appliance trade-ins/recycling programs

FirstEnergy and other utility companies offer incentive programs that encourage residential customers to trade in their old, energy-intensive appliances and replace them with new, more energy efficient models. The utility offers customers in the Ohio Edison, Toledo Edison and The Illuminating Co. service territories the option of trading in washers, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and other appliances for $50 credits.
