A department of Texas’ capital city, Austin Energy provides electric power to more than 420,000 customers. Austin Energy draws power from a large wind power portfolio, a solar farm, a pair of landfill gas-to-energy facilities and a Southern Co.-owned biomass facility. The 100 MW Plant Nacogdoches burns wood chips derived from timber industry waste.
