Event Recorder

Cyber Sciences has new capabilities in its line of CyTime sequence of events recorders, model SER-3200, for power and automation systems. The version 1.10 update, available to existing customers for free download, adds automatic time sync with an NTP network time server and other enhancements requested by customers. The CyTime features 32 high-speed digital inputs to monitor the status of key power system elements such as breaker and switch status, generator operation, UPS and battery readiness, and relay alarms. In addition, any event may be activated to trigger a coincident waveform-capture by a compatible power meter. The CyTime event recorder’s integral Web server presents the status of all monitored equipment and a detailed record of all events time-stamped to 1-millisecond resolution—all over an Ethernet network using a standard Web browser. The event log reveals what happened and when.

Circuit Breaker

Automation Systems Interconnect introduces the new UL489 brand of hydraulic magnetic circuit breakers. These circuit breakers are available in AC and DC trip curves. The hydraulic magnetic overload technology protects the circuit in both overload and short circuit. All circuit breakers are ROHS compliant. The NDB3-100 series of circuit breakers are screw-mount.The NDB3-100 has a rated current from 1-100A, rated voltage AC230V/400V, DC80V, one-, two- and three-pole.

Thermal Imaging

FLIR Systems unveiled three product lines that alter the thermal imaging market by expanding options. First, the FLIR i3 is a sub-$1,200 point-and-shoot infrared camera. The fully-automatic FLIR i3 is easy-to-use and offers 60×60 pixel resolution suitable for everyday, general diagnostic work. Second, FLIR’s new E-series is a four-model range of compact thermal imagers (E30, E40, E50, E60) that transforms infrared diagnostics by introducing a mix of powerful thermal imaging capabilities such as 76,800 pixels (320àƒ–240) IR resolution coupled with 2 percent accuracy. Finally, the all-new FLIR T620 and T640 build on the FLIR E-series’ innovative capabilities and add a 307,200-pixel (640×480) infrared resolution. All new FLIR thermal imagers are available now.

Smart Meter Partnership

Sensus is partnering with meter data management system (MDMS) provider Ecologic Analytics to provide a pre-validated, pre-integrated communications solution for electricity customers using the Sensus FlexNet advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system. The Sensus FlexNet and Ecologic MDMS solution is based on the IEC 61968 Part 9 interface, the interoperability standard to provide a common interface model (CIM) gateway for meter reading and control data to be exchanged between the Sensus radio network interface (RNI) head end system and the Ecologic MDMS application. Using this standards-based approach to pre-integrate and test the systems is a principle for the strategic alliance between Sensus and Ecologic Analytics. The pre-integration and testing work eliminates time spent in the field building ad-hoc interfaces.
