MILWAUKEE, Wis., Oct. 3, 2003 — Invensys’ IMServ North America LLC (IMServ Field Services) has received Six Sigma certification. Six Sigma is a disciplined approach and methodology involving data measurement, tracking and reporting standards that are geared towards achieving continuous improvement, lean enterprise management and quality in processes from manufacturing to service delivery.
The certification is the culmination of the emphasis that IMServ has placed on providing quality field metering services to its customers since 1995.
“Proactive quality management is essential to the overall success of our organization”, says Jeff van Ess, IMServ’s Director of Field Operations. “Our philosophy has always been to have the right mix of people, tools and methodology in place to deliver high quality services to our customers. Our rigorous qualification standards ensure we have professional field personnel. Our web-based systems give us the means to monitor performance. And now by applying the Six Sigma approach to the way we manage our projects, we’ve successfully taken the guesswork out of field metering operations. We can consistently deliver quality to our customers while giving them the best value in outsourced metering services. We can also focus more on our customers’ future needs. That translates into customer satisfaction.”
FieldTech, now known as IMServ, has provided field metering services to gas, water and electric utilities and nearly 160,000,000 meter reads, 1,100,000 meter changes, AMR installations and field services to investor owned utilities, municipalities and cooperatives nationwide since 1995.
